Mayrhofen calls!
Attention metalheads!
The Alps' loudest metal festival is back!
When powerful riffs echo through the Zillertal mountains in spring, it can only mean one thing: Full Metal Mayrhofen is back! From March 23 to 28, 2026, the Mayrhofen-Hippach holiday region will once again become the winter mecca for all metalheads. Acts such as In Extremo, Donots, Beyond The Black and Emil Bulls have already confirmed – and now eight more names expand the line-up for the second edition of the loudest music festival in the Alps.
Doro, the Metal Queen herself, will storm the mountain together with her band and countless classics from her four-decade reign. Finnish band Ensiferum will bring their new album – Winter Storm – which should not be understood as a weather forecast, but as a guarantee for epic folk metal from the far North. Things get musically darker with southern Germany’s dark metallers Seasons In Black, fronted by (and also TV chef) Lucki Maurer. Finally, Induction, featuring guitarist Tim Kanoa Hansen, son of Helloween legend Kai Hansen, will deliver plenty of fire to the line-up with their modern symphonic power metal.
There will also be strong local groups and tribute acts: Ozzyfied celebrate the unforgettable Ozzy Osbourne with an authentic Black Sabbath show, Blechblosn provide a brass party with a guaranteed headbanging vibe, Der Rocka und da Waitla bring Bavarian rock’n’roll to the stage, and Reis Against The Spülmaschine deliver fun punk and full-throttle parodies.
Aside from the stages, plenty of other highlights await the mountain metallers: Ahorn and Penken mountains offer a wide range of options for winter sports and relaxation, while the Tux Glacier is the perfect destination for those who want to go even higher. Guests who prefer not to strap one or two boards to their feet can still enjoy the icy white landscape by winter hiking or tobogganing. Those seeking something quieter can relax with one of the many wellness offers or enjoy regional specialties. Many local businesses open their doors to offer insights into their craftsmanship – from beer brewing to the production of spicy Alpine cheese. Well fortified, visitors can enjoy the concerts on the mountain and in the valley even more.
